up to 24 weeks. Borage seed oil can decrease the number of tender joints by 36%,

Patients with rheumatoid arthritis may be concerned about becoming pregnant due to the toll it may take on an already damaged body. Some patients may worry about increasing the damage to their joints due to more inflammation or the extra weight placed on the joints. Although valid concerns, research has shown that pregnancy is actually beneficial to the rheumatoid arthritis patient. Patients at highest risk for developing rheumatoid arthritis are nulliparous females. Unfortunately, there is a higher rate of infertility in women who are genetically predisposed to developing rheumatoid arthr ...

Hi Kate,
Rheumatoid arthritis has a strong link to candida. It is mostly via the body’s response to the presence of fungal candida in the tissues - http://candidaplan.com/blog/620/candida-linked-to-arthritis-multiple-sclerosis-psoriasis-and-other-autoimmune-conditions/
The IgM and IgA tend to indicate an active current infection. From those two factors together, it would look like you have an active fungal candida infection driving rheumatoid arthritis in the body.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Joint Health and Rheumatoid Arthritis:
There has been considerable number of in vitro and animal models testing the use of omega-3 fatty acids in the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. This research as well as some clinical trials suggests that omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the severity of the symptoms, slow the progression of the disease and reduce the need for drug treatment. The potential benefits of omega-3 fatty acids may be due to their anti-inflammatory properties. The evidence, while promising is not conclusive at this time.

The scant research that I have done clearly shows a connection between rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis- I think it is due to their both being considered auto immune diseases. In Fasting and Eating for Health, by Furhman he talks a lot about treating rheumatoid arthritis with fasting and eating, on pages 152-158.
He says ” A supervised fast is the most effective way the individual with rheumatoid arthritis can quickly eliminate pain and stop the degeneration of the body and joints caused by the attack of the immune system.”

Arthritis is a very common health problem that sends over 20 million people to their physician’s office each year. These two types are completely different, even though they have some similarities.

Rheumatoid arthritis does NOT come from mirena. Other people having it and having mirena is a coincidence...barely even that. Many people develop rheumatoid arthritis as they get older. Many people opt for mirena. That does not show a link between the two. Autoimmune and inflammatory diseases are likely caused by poor diet (bad fats and oils which raise omega 6 levels, an inflammatory agent) and lack of vitamin D. Please see a doctor who can help you find the real cause so you can treat the cause...because mirena did not do this to you.
