Hello, I have O neg type blood. I had rogam[sp?] shot with my
first child in 8th month.[due to late prenatal care] She had rh neg blood also, so didnt really need the shot, but better to have it than risk the complications. With my next pregnancy I got to the Dr. sooner and had the shot in my seventh month, which is when it was normally given. He has rh positive blood type. Its my understanding that any female with a negative rh factor, pregnant
by a positive rh factor male sh/have the shot. The mothers blood will actually attack the unborn childs blood if it has a positive rh factor. Long ago I read a novel about a young woman who had a brain-damaged child due to her rh factor. Her father was a tycoon of some sort and tried to sue her doctor. Come to find out, the woman had had an abortion prior to this pregnancy. The child would have been inter-racial, so the domineering father forced her to abort. This same father insisted on keeping the whole thing secret. If the Dr. had known about the 1st. pregnancy, she would have gotten the shot and probably had a normal baby. The Dr. won
the lawsuit. Hope this doesnt confuse you too much. Marj
