the important part of that post, to me, is that fact that the young male elephants stopped their destructive behavior once the older males were introduced, The older males were not the fathers of these youngsters...so...that shows that a positive male role model can have a powerful influence indeed, related or not.
And I have seen that exact thing happen.. :)
Yes, the family structure is broken. Important to remember the influence we can have on younger folks, related or not. Old saying- "it takes a village to raise a child"...
We're all responsible for our younger ones.
