I had a friend who got emails from a gal overseas.  She said lots of nice things.  Eventually she wanted him to wire money for her to come there.  He was going to do it, but his friend talked him out of it.  She gave him all kinds of stories beforehand to lead up to it, like saying she was getting money somewhere else.  All her plans would always fall through and then she didn't think she could come.  It was a big spiel just to get money.  He would have never seen her had he sent money.  She even went through that old, I'm in the hospital and cannot pay the bill thing.  Many of them do that.
