Re: Lake Swimmer's Itch Caused by Parasites

We've had two fatal cases of amoebic meningitis here in the Austin area of Texas. Our lake waters are very warm, around 85 degrees; and we've had a month of flooding rains.

It's always sad to hear such as this. Two young boys swimming in the lake. The second one was swimming a few weeks after the first. Parents should be more aware.

I hear it get in through the nose; and then swells the brain.
