Re: Bad Pain under mostly right ribs

Sorry I took me so long to get back to you. The cut and red bumps on your stomach entrance doesn't really sound okay - was that on the sphincter? I would imagine that any kind of gastroesophogeal reflux would really bother that. What did the doctor say? Also, it doesn't really sound like a gall bladder attack - that pain is really accute, almost like getting stabbed in the gut. The tech who did the ultrasound probably would have given you a heads up if they saw anything - I always ask the tech if things look normal whenever I have a test like that done.

I went to my doctor last week for my stomach pains. After my flush, it spread from the right side below my rib cage to my left side, and seemed to move around my GI tract. I was worried that it could have been pancreatitis, but my labs came back okay. I now believe that I probably have stress and diet related gastritis. My doctor gave me a referral for an upper GI to check for ulcers, which I have yet to schedule. He also gave me a prescription for Nexium, which has pretty much eliminated the irritation in the span of 5 days; I think I have to stay on it for a while to eliminate the problem altogether.

Your becoming overwhelmed by the your pain. YES, STRESS CAN MOST DEFINITELY CAUSE THIS TYPE OF IRRITATION!!! Don't let your psyche feed it; go for a relaxing walk everyday to clear your head. I'd recommend trying a prescription antacid or proton pump inhibitor like Nexium. It will reduce stomach acid to allow things to heal up. Also follow the directions of your specialist.

I hope your pain eases up quicklu - good luck!
