Also- I reccomend a good forum at Herb Allure -- the owners of that forum have gone through heavy metal poisoning , had their tons of metal teeth fillings removed and detoxed afterwareds. They share their experiences, and you can ask advise on what to eat, what nutrients you should concentrate on while detoxing, and what detox-chelating things you could take now.
I had my metal fillings replaced with porcelain/composite mixture--which is incredibally strong material and safe. I use Chlorella along with Algin, and after 3 months , I also take ALA along with that.
Nutrients you need while mercury toxic-- and while chelating are increased amounts of natural bioflavonoid rich Vitamin C, Digestive rich fruits like papaya and pineapple, raw nuts like Brazil Nuts, walnuts.,etc. Raw apples, etc.
Increasing the amount of Magnesium , Manganese, Selenium, Zinc, and plant based calcium (more magnesium than calcium) also help the body withstand the toxicity while you chelate out the metals-- and according to Hal Huggins who wrote, "It's all in Your Head", mercury toxic people have more of a deficiency of magnesium than others.
