Lack of courtesy

How can tell my husband that a small courtesy is very important for our relationship? My husband is very loose about his time. For example, we were invited to my cousin’s birthday dinner. We were supposed to meet up at the restaurant, but he never showed up. I confronted him, and he had a big excuse. “I got into the Marathon conversations with my very important client. I was not able to make a phone call to you.” He could send a text message to my Cell Phone , or he could send an instant message to my computer. He just makes a convenient excuse, and he does not want to be responsible for his conducts. He is sweet, but I don’t like this kind of attitude. Help me Melissa! Tweet
