Man bites dog?

Yeah, when a dog bites a man, everyone says "big deal, happens all the time".  When a man bites a dog, now that is news.

Or, when 120,000 or more die each year from properly prescribed drugs, 100,000 or more die from doctor or hospital error, and hundreds of thousands are routinely lied to and given false hope for cures for cancer and other chronic illnesses that mainstream medicine does not possess - that is all passed off as part of our esteemed medical and healthcare system (you know, the one that has led us to drop out of the top 40 countries worldwide in both longevity and infant mortality, but we do remain number one in obesity, medical costs, insurance and drug costs though!).

Let one death be attributed to a natural supplement, alternative treatment, or in this case what appears to be at best a case of someone mistakenly offering hope they could not deliver and at worst deliberately doing so, and a furious howl for blood arises.

And it seems to me that it is the same dogs always barking the loudest here.

IMHO, all health practitioners should be held accountable for unscrupulous actions, but it is the lack of judgement and lack of scruples that need to be addressed.  Insofar as treatments themselves, the figures clearly indicate that it is the mainstream treatments and drugs who beg to have their house put in order to the tune of hundreds of thousands of wasted lives each year before we direct our resources and energy on the handful of deaths that occur outside mainstream medicine.

Improve the mainstream deaths by a few hundred thousand lives a year, stop the biased studies and deceptive trials, greed, lies and suppression of truth and safer, less expensive natural alternatives and THEN maybe it might be appropriate to take a look at the side of healthcare that seeks to prevent and cure illness and promote good health instead of managing prolonged illness.

Until that is done, the dogs are barking up the wrong tree in this forum.
