Re: for those on thyroid hormone
as doctors, they showed no real concern about someone being on or needing the meds. the focus so far has mainly been on patients with hypo symptoms. they said
Iodine should be tried first and that if, after six months or so, thyroid hormones are still indicated, then the amount needed will be much smaller and the quality fo life will be much greater with an iodinated body.
iodine cures
Iodine deficiency. that in turn takes care of all the problems associated with NOT being
Iodine sufficient. what is clear, however, is that iodine is needed in greater quantities than is promoted generally and that the patient can oversee this process with enough knowledge(guidance).
you can bet on one thing, your thyroid is totally bereft of any iodine. very few adverse reaction is seen in anyone on 12.5mg, even lactating women with nursing babies. the baby will get about 8mg a day in the milk without problems of acceptance with the milk. as the dose goes up, they have seen babies have problems withthe taste of the milk and refuse it.
they recommend iodine for children of all ages. everyone needs iodine, they said.
introducing iodine slowly and monitoring the effects is what they said. once hyperthyroid symptoms are experienced(hot flashes, sweating), that is the time to cut the meds in half. as you keep going, your body will tell you if the hyper comes back and another decrease in thyroxin is needed. looks like youll never know unless you try.
