Re: Mercury and mitral valve prolapse
I don't know the mechanics of how it causes it. the mercury makes the valve weak. it is very common among the mercury poisoned. I had it from a young age and it used to terrify me. I thought I was going to die. The drs could not figure out what it was and would just say it was a murmur. i told them it hurt and they said, no murmurs don't hurt. they put a heart monitor on me one time, but it didn't happen during the 24 hrs ,which cost my parents over $200 for nothing. one time, when i was going to one of the many drs I saw over the yrs, i was mentioning my heart problem and he said it could be a mitral valve prolapse and the only way to tell was to get an echocardiogram. so, i had one and they found it. it wasn't until years later that when studying mercury that I read it was one of the symptoms. since the mercury has been out, I have had only 2 attacks in 5 years and I was getting them much more frequently before. in most cases the prolapse is mild, but the longer you stay mercury poisoned, the worse it can get. after you get them out and chelate, the attacks should subside.
"valve didn't close quite all the way."
actually, the valve does not open properly and blood builds up behind it until it builds enough pressure to open it. if it ever stops being able to open it, you are in trouble. that is how it was explained to me.
