Re: Alzheimers is hitting at younger ages

Hey Corey
I've been working with Folks with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias for almost 6 years. Early Onset Alzheimer's is the one form of dementia that the Alzheimer's Association can say is genetically passed on. It affects about 2 per cent of folks diagnosed with Alzheimer's. If your grandmother had Alzheimer's and it was diagnosed in her 70s on, you actually have a great chance of preventing the diaease with proper nutrition, physical and MENTAL excercise. Abstract thinking is affected. Keep your mind sharp with soduko puzzles, etc..
Be wary of doctors who pull out that Mini mental exam, and use it as an absolute in diagnosing Alzheimer's Disease...I could go on and on.
