Re: slipped disc - Intersegmental traction

I use the Thompson table which I do the intersegmental traction with. What the traction does is draw the disc back within its normal confines between the vertebra. The lumbar roll can be hazardous in this situation. Although a valid technic I stay away from it when I suspect any disc involvement.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a slipped disc. The medics are really quite ignorant when it comes to spinal problems.

Either way get to a good chiropractor tomorrow. Even in the more serious conditions we can usually have the pain 50 to 80 percent gone in a few days. Getting them out of pain is the easy part getting them stable is quite another thing. And it takes a minimum of two months to heal totally like any serious sprain would.
