Amino Acid Peptides for Cataracts

As for your question about peptides for cataracts,
I am very interested in this issue. I work with blind people every day. If I had cataracts and there was a natural, safe and effective treatment for them, it would certainly be my first choice over surgery. Many of the people who I work with had cataract surgery and are now blind as a result. I am not saying I would never do the surgery. I am saying that I would try natural treatments first.

When I am looking for a natural treatment for anything that is not a food, I look for double blind placebo controlled tests. My search for a dipeptide amino acid that is a natural source of help for cataracts led me to n-acetylcarnosine eyedrops. There were double blind tests done on human subjects and 90% showed some improvement in visual acuity. This to me is a significant result. Amino acids are not a drug so to me...even though n-acetylcarnosine sounds like a synthetic drug, it is not. I would try these eyedrops if I had cataracts. I am not suggesting that you do so as I am not a doctor and I do not play one on tee-vee. I am saying that I would try these eyedrops before I would risk blindness due to surgery. I would administer the drops as prescribed.

If you do try them and have positive results, I hope you will write me back so I can post the results in curezone.

I would also take several drops of Lugol's Iodine orally(drink it) for several weeks to see if Iodine deficiency might be part of the problem. I doubt if there are any double blind studies for Iodine supplementation and cataracts but individuals who have tried this supplement have had eyesight improvement.

I would also take mega doses of vitamin c to increase the immune systems response to other natural treatments. I would wash down the vitamin C with a tiny bit if apple cider vinegar(maybe 1/2 teaspoon) in a glass of distilled water to help the vitamins break down more easily.

Drinking several glasses of water with a tiny pinch of Sea Salt in each glass would also help get moisture to the eyes.

These are just the first things I would try before I risked surgery. I probably would try one or more of these natural ways to supplement the eye drops and if any seemed to help, I would continue taking these supplements until no improvement was indicated after several weeks. That is my take on your question about peptides. I see many blind people a day that wish they had done something about their cataracts. Natural treatments are not drugs though. Many people want immediate results. The natural path to healing is a long term deal. If you want a sensation, there are surgery and drugs. As for me, I do not trust drug and surgery pushing doctors. I am not saying I will never let a doctor remove my cataracts if I had them. I am just saying I would exhaust other natural possibilities and give them a chance to work before I ever let the butchers cut on my eyes.
