Ointments, by MH
The one thing the Amish Healer teaches is that other ointments work and people don't have to use his formula. He does suggest whole leaf aloe would be excellant, but few would have enough fresh leaves. He also states that a small percentage of people develope a redness from his formula and when this happens you start trying other ointments or other leaves until you find something the person gets along with.
Then their method seeks a mild cream after the skin/scar has developed and this is where I would tend to disagree or suggest better ways. For the little 7 year old that had her ankle ran over by a car, I also sent her the B&W ointment with the added cayenne that I have made for some years. I believe as soon as a burn is not senitive, I would go for the cayenne and foget this panzy light cream theory. Their theory is if you keep the burn scar moist with a mild cream it will eventually dissolve..Naturaly their method has worked for over 30 years, but that does not mean it can't be greatly improved.
I stocked up with over 200 jars of the ointment and I should be selling 200 jars daily if people were wise, but as it is, these 200 jars will most likely last 3+ years. Since the Amish Healer does not make a mild cream and relies on other creams, I think I will make my own. I seen what they were using and did not care for it. I think maybe 3 grades of cream should be used after the flesh has been restored.
I also have always wanted to improve the B&W ointment and now that I have sent off for ingredients to make the cream, I think I will experiment around making my own "animal" free version of the B&W / BF&C ointments...I have always thought I could do better, but didn't see the need since others do such a good job at a reasonable price, etc.. since they need a mild version I will gladly make this, but I know they would never use it, with what they are doing they need a product that can stand up to fda testing etc. in case they in up in problems...my formula would, but who would ever want to spend such money, etc...I will send them some samples to play with and maybe my own version of their secret formula just to shake them up a little. For as long as they can make the B&W it is good enough and thats what the book is written upon.
I prefer animal free when possible and I know many old ointments used animal. I also suspect the Amish Healer would reject my formula to be because it will be using a few pricy ingredients, but as I said, If I am burnt to the bone, I don't care if the treatment has to cost less than $100, if it cost triple that it is no big deal to me!!!If I were burnt to the bone I would want the best possible.
Going through the schooling I now know the trick is to not heal the wound before the flesh has grown back and that is the root of their success.
Now that I understand the method and it only took be 10 years to do this thanks to the seminars, now I have an understanding that would allow me to make my own version if I need to.
I asked the Amish Healer about using my theory of the ocean leaf which is cheap/uniform and in theory to me seems Ideal and he admited it probably would be ideal, but also admited he has not tried it once in the past year I gave him 100 sheets to experiment with...I don't mind his kits/theories but there is alot of room for improvements and even though they say they want help, they really don't, they are very stuck in their ways. My theory is that a good kit would not only work on burns, but also broken bones, skin rashes and all skin problems. So as I build this book for them, I will also be building my own version with expanded products/methods to make it better. Just like BOOK I worked great as written, so can the Burn Aid be made better yet in my opinion.
Naturally I do not want any self-experience with this, burns are something you wish you could go a lifetime never seeing. I was burnt badly at age 6 and I never want burnt again. My only treatment was my parents put butter all over my face and used a dull knife to open both my eyes so I could see, they had no clue to do anything else and I survived it.
