White Oak (Quercus Alba) Family: Fagaceae
Part used: the inner bark
Bio-chemical constituents: tannins, vitamin b12, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iodine, sulphur, iron, sodium, cobalt, lead, strontium, tin
Therapeutic action: astringent, hemostatic, antiseptic
Medical uses: bleeding (both internal and external) bloody urine, hemorrhoids, menstrual problems, mouth sores, skin irritations,saliva gland rupture,teeth, strep throat, ulcers, varicose veins, pin worms
Equal parts of White Oak (Quercus Alba) and Butcher's Broom (Ruscus Aculeatus) is a good formula for varicose veins.
