Re: How to hear from GOD
I discovered God in Cambodia 1970. It's true: "Ain't no atheists on the batlefied". I've tried over the years to put it into words but always fall short.
My Father was a Chiropracotr and he used to tell us kids "You know better than that" and sure enough, if we were honest with ourselves, we did.
The Chiropractors call it the "Innate". Which I think is the best descriptive word you can use for it. They call the God "Universal Intellegence" which, again, I think is the most proper description of it.
I was taught at an early age to listen and take heed of the promptings. On the battlefield it just happens. The pressence is real close though and you can even smell it. There are NO atheists on the battlefield on either side of the conflict. It changes you permenently. And it's almost a curse to be that tuned into life. It's true what they say "Ignorance is bliss".
But to explain it to someone? Nawwww can't be done. It's the chills you get when an event happens of such profound magnatude and significance. It's the goosebumps you get listening to great music, Rock and Roll or otherwise. Its the tears you get from that special movie or theactrical performance. It's the tinyness you feel when witnesing that perfect sunset. The profound peace you get from doing the right thing.
Its what the poets and songwriters have agonized about for centuries. And yet, no one has been able to put it to words. It has to be felt. And every now and then it happens and you know your're in the pressence of greatness. From that time on you live for those moments. Nothing else can compare.
God, love, truth, peace, that's where it's at. The enemy is any and all who try to take that away from you. Doc Sutter
