Well now, as of today I've been supplementing Iodine for 6 mos. I'll do a little recap as far as detox, dosages, etc...BTW, I'm doing this for fibrocystic breast disease.

I started my dosage at 12.5 mg per day and over a period of 3 mos. time, brought that up to 50, where I've been ever since(for the most part). My reasoning was that I wanted to be able to handle any detox that came my way and I must say that overall, I've been successful. I was also very nervous. I remember some of the initial reports to this forum, Infinitelove had a really powerful detox, if memory serves. Anyway, we were pioneers. We didn't have experience or reports from others as far as what to expect!

With the very first drop of Lugol's, I had a sense of heightened awareness & body rushes. I knew I liked this stuff:) The next day I had loose bowels and a feeling of pressure in my head. The first week I experienced sleeplessness, headaches, water retention. I know, sounds like fun, huh? Along with that I noticed an increase in dream activity, colors seemed sharper, sounds clearer. I had tingly feelings all over my head... :) So...I got those reactions at 12.5 mg! I figure that I really needed it! :) (i did,& do:) So, a lot of it was unpleasant, but there was such a feeling of "rightness" about it that I forged on. The worst thing was the disturbance of sleep. That took about a week to normalize.

I'm still on the same protocol detailed in that post, except I'm not taking niacin now, I'll pick that up again at some point.

The physical detox symptoms I've experienced through this journey include headache, zits, water retention, joint aches & flu-like symptoms. None of this has been incapacitating or long-lasting. I've also been detoxing emotionally...the fluoride/bromide seems to have left my brain:) I can see clearly now & what I've seen is not always pretty...

In the last couple of months, I've had no physical detox at all(except IP6, that's another story). I did 100 mg for a month or so there, no detox. No more colored pee, zits or anything for quite some time now. Everything is smooth sailing:)

The initial cysts(2) are long gone now. I also have an area of cystic tissue on my chest wall that's breaking down, this is taking longer. Initially, the area felt like a thickened mass, then it seemed to break up and separate into cystic areas(3). The cysts went through the same swelling and are now shrinking. I experience occasional twinges of pain from this area....I see this pain as being a sign of activity, I never experienced pain in this area prior to this time. Heck, I didn't even know that I had more FBD to deal with, beyond the initial two cysts! It took the eradication of the first two cysts and the change to my breast tissue to find this out!

I love my breasts now:) They feel good. Throughout my life, I've been at odds with them, they were always too big, swollen, so it seemed. That and the fact that I experienced cyclical pain and extreme nipple sensitivity as well. It just never seemed right! well....hmmmm...that's all changed. I've lost a cup size of swollen tissue, the shape has completely changed, they're incredibly soft, I LOVE them! ummmm...I might edit this post later depending on the response I get here, but here's a pic of my happy girls....:)
