Any tried Lithotripsy to break up stones?

I just came across a website http://www.healpain.net/articles/bey-acu.html where they talk about using a laser lithotripter from China to break up stones. To my surprise the founder of the company only lives 1/2 hr. away from me, so I contacted him. He says that his machine got broken on an airplane and he hasn't ever bought another one, since he is retiring. He doesn't know anyone else who does this.

I've heard of using shockwaves to break up stones, but never lasers. Every Dr. that I've talked to warns against this, but since I have a large stone, that doesn't seem to want to pass, I thought Lithotripsy sounded like a good idea, especially since this guy made the laser method sound so easy. Anyone have any more knowledge on this procedure?

I've got an appointment with a surgeon and this was my last hope. I've done several flushes, tried gold coin grass to help disolve, tried accupuncture, but I keep having attacks and nothing will stop them. I can't take anymore attacks and don't have a strong desire to be doing flushes all the time for the rest of my life.
