Juice Feasting Anyone
Has anyone tried "juice feasting"?
This is about having copious amounts of fresh organic juice that includes at least two
pounds of leafy greens and at least 1 bunch of
Celery in various receipes you can invent. If you google on it you will see some youtube videos and raw foodist Angela Stokes good success with it, going for 92 days. Some go for 108 days.
Nothing else. Just fresh organic juice and some very pure vegan supplements such as green powders.
I have just tried it and it is working well for me. This is the longest I have been able to juice feast because I am tricking myself my continually saying to myself "I'm just doing this today". Therefore, I am telling no one about it (except this anonymous post) because that seems to sabotage me....maybe just in my own mind.
Therefore, I don't talk about how long it has been for me now ... I am going into the "zone" beyond time and space on this amazing juice feast.
So far it has been easy .... I have strung a few days together and it is effortless. Best and easiest time fasting for me every. I also drink a lot of charged water.
All produce is 100% organic. This program is costing me $15 per day in organic produce. That is soooo cheap when you consider many spend this and more each day on the worst possible fast food, starbucks, chemically-laden diet food, sodas, etc., ruining their health, whereas I am in the process of a major health overhaul.
I was craving something like a spicy V8 juice, so today's receipe is as follows:
1 bunch of cilantro
1 bunch of romaine
1/2 bunch of purple kale
5
inches of ginger root
3 cloves of garlic
4 green onions
6 big juicy tomatoes
2 cucumber
1 bunch of celery
1 bunch of carrots
3 lemons
2 limes
With no salt, no spice ... this made the very best, "snap-e tom", extra virgin bloody mary you can imagine. the ginger, garlic, onion and cilantro gave it the perfect natural spiciness, and the
Celery gave it the perfect amount of salt. It is beyond yummy!
I couldn't get enough of it! Most of my juices I dilute half with water, but this didn't need it. Absolutely deee-lish and scrumptalicious on every level.
So far I've experienced several small detox symptoms such as reliving old aches and pains here and there, but they usually last half a day or so. Also hocking up a lot of pleghm (good riddance) which feels less than lady-like but hey, I want it out of me!
But the most interesting detox is the re-visiting of old painful emotions that come up, like the time I was invited to my 1st prom at age 15 at another boy's school and the flier said formal or semi-formal so I wore the cutest formal mini-dress and was laughed at because every other girl was in a long dress. Wow! Hadn't thought of that in decades, so this was obviously stuck in my tissues and I flushed it out with some compassionate love to my inner 15 year old. Lots of stuff like that came up that day.
I will state that I am a long-time faster, but this is the first time it has truly felt effortless. Usually I bail after a couple of days max, unless I am at a fasting retreat.
My personal feeling is that
juicing the 2
pounds of fresh greens everyday is the "x factor" that supports the nutritional needs of the body during the juice feast. It feels very hearty and filling and comforting. I have learned how to make green juice taste extremely good with a variety of tricks I will share at a later time.
So this is "Day 1" of a "1-day juice feast" that I plan on doing for lots of more "1-day" feasts with no breaks between, if you can get my drift.
When I contemplate doing the entire 92 days, it kinda psyches me out, so everyday it is a brand new 1-day fast for me, and if I get a hunger pang, I just tell myself, "Oh, it is just for today ... you can last for a few more hours...." to keep going, and of course, the next morning, when I jump on the scale, of course I want to keep going.
So this is working for me .... and I am feeling very good.
What I am juice feasting for is:
* Deep tissue cleansing of every body system
* Sustained time away from cooked foods to allow my body to clear them, thus release cravings for cooked food
* Freedom from binge eating
* Weight loss
* Rejuvenation
* Energy elevation
* Spiritual opening and purification
* Self esteem
* Connection with my higher self
* Focus upon priorities and my purpose in life
