Strange irregularity in periods

I am facing strange irregularity in my periods.
I get some spotting,but there is no bleeding at all.but the spotting continues beyond 9 days.This has never happened before.I suffer from cysts in ovary-which doctor says are normal.I have thyroid problem and am taking medication for that.I am obese.
I have no pain or discomfort. I shall be grateful for any help as,I am in a new country now,and have no access to medicare as of now,till I get my care card.
