Major Hair Loss, Adrenals or Thryoid?

Hello Everyone,

I am a 44 year old female who had Chronic Fatigue for six years. I got well from IV's, colonics, cleanses, juicing, etc.

I was doing fine until about six weeks ago. I have been through hair sheds from stress before but none that I think were this severe. I moved to Florida from Ohio back in February, it was stressful but not anything major. I am in a place where I don't know anyone, there were some questions for a while but now I am happy to be here.

Six weeks ago, my scalp started to itch and tingle and then...the hair started falling. Not just when washing, all day. I went to the salon yesterday and my stylist said he noticed it right away when he took my hair and made it into a ponytail.

The entire time he was doing my hair, it was coming out and after.

My other symptoms are what is confusing for a thyroid problem. I feel warm all the time and have trouble when I am in extreme heat. I don't have dry skin, it has become oily if anything.

I am making myself whacky from trying to decide if this is a thyroid or adrenal problem but the hair loss is the stressor, if that would stop, I would feel fine.

I do have some weight gain around the waist and legs but that could be diet related, I have been stuffing my face with the wrong foods.

Anxiety is also coming and going, it may be due to hypoglycemia. I also have a rash on my arms that started at the same time with sore red bumps on my scalp as well. A derm I did see said it wasn't any kind of infection.

My insurance does not start until August 1st, I will call tomorrow and try to get an appointment to see a doc on or around that date.

Is there a good way to test the thyroid and/or adrenals at home?

I hope I haven't asked too many questions, I'm trying like heck to live a normal life for the first time in years and this is not helping. I was sick for a total of ten years, I want to be healthy and stay that way.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions,

Lisa
