Beet greens

I ate fresh raw beets (from the garden) for about a week. Yes, it helped...but very slowly, and only to a point.

Then my husband cooked up all the greens I have been saving in the fridge...with some freshly picked green beans. Also 1/2 a chicken breast, braised, and the first potatoes, some butter and Celtic grey salt.

No more than 12 hours later...Bingo!

Lightly cooked, and drink the water...even a day later.

Very satisfying!

Enjoy!

Oh yes...my husband usually eats very few vegetables, except potatoes. Since the garden has come in, however, he has been having a few peas and things, raw. This results in 'the trots' for him, though I don't think that is the only thing that causes this condition.

I remember that some things that have a laxative effect can be stopped by buttermilk (I think)...so that's what I suggested. Tomorrow, for sure he'll be buying buttermilk.

Hope I have it right.

F.
