Remove Mucoid Plaque
Remove the black gunk now with organic herbs and clay.

Any new painting, carpet, room fresheners or perhaps someone used some insecticide spray?

Or is it a "new" construction home?

Outgassing of recently made products such as carpet or formaldehyde ladened lumber can be a problem for several years.
