Red, orange, pink and black "slugs" are liver flukes. The very young ones look like white balls - the older the liver fluke - the darker the color. Liver flukes are not broken down by the body - this is because they LIVE in bile (acids) and come out whole. The other "broken down" things could be tapeworm segments.
