Distilled water W/Vitalizer Plus machine?

I thought I had read that you use distilled water or reverse osmosis water with the Vitalizer Plus machine. In a book I'm reading "The Seven Pillars of Health" Dr. Don Colbert doesn't recommend distilled. I'm sooooo confused. To those of you who are using this machine ....... are you using anything in addition to it? At this time the only filtered water I'm using is coming from my fridge and that just doesn't seem adequate.
