Re: "The Secret" is a Bunch of Crap

I dont agree its a total bunch of crap. I got goosebumps watching it, but not because I could materialise a car if i wanted, but because i realised everything in the universe is connected and I do believe that like attracts like and therefore I could change my life if I wanted to. Too many people think a lot of stuff is 'out of their control' or 'not my fault'.
I've always prayed to a 'higher power' for guidance or help when i needed it and more often that not, its given - although i tend to find that if i'm confused and unsure or want things for the wrong reasons, it happens slowly or not at all. However if I make a definitive decision and really know what I want, everything seems to slot into place in my life and it happens. I think it has to do a lot with belief ( - would this world even be here if we didnt believe it existed?) This realisation became much more concrete to me after reading The Celestine Prophecy and watching the Secret. Now i know they're tacky and schlocky, but one doesnt always have hours of spare time to surf the net/read books on all this stuff. There are only so many hours in the day to work and have a life... I think the Secret is a little like 'pop' spiritualism to a degree. If it reaches some of the people in the world who were otherwise not spritual in any way, pure materialists, and gives them some sort of sprituality, and I think its a good thing which is much needed in this world. For people that are of a higher vibration, or whatever you might like to call it, who 'know' things that these people don't, it all seems a bit trite and ridiculous. Spare a thought for the people it did reach, who are now on a better path :) Tweet
