Petroleum emissions ~ the answer for hopinso(dont read if you still want to play)
petroleum emissions. we have an agency, the epa, who is supposed to protect us. instead, they have turned a blind eye to carbon based fuel emissions ever since they threw us a bone withthe lead issue.
everyone thinks that if they cant smell it, it cant hurt them. well, i can smell it and i can feel its effects every time i go into the city. they pay attention to hydrocarbons(they are bad enough) and
CO and CO2 and O2 and somewhat to sulfur in diesel. havent you been behind a car that smells like rotten eggs? well, that is the deadly gas sulfur dioxide.
that is just the tip of the iceberg. these gases and particles are so small and mostly odorless so we dont mention them and the gov doesnt bother to even look for them or analyze them or consider the effect on human health.
dont you know why smoking in public is comign under such scrutiny? its the fact that people have reached a threshold with all the "smoke" they are already inhaling every day and it really does bother them. smoking numbers continue to decline but lung cancer numbers continue to increase, especially among nonsmokers.
and its not just cancer. i dont have time to go into it now, but i have a firm belief based upon the knowledge and experience that i have thus far that these emissions are the root of a lot more of the diseases we see than anybody has ever considered. and its not considered because no one is going to stop driving and no one is willing to pay more to do so than they absolutely have to.
this is decreasing life expectancy at exponential rates. the numbers wont show up until it is too late for a couple of generations. it is too late now for many. the carbon based economy means decreased life, mobility and freedom from disease for millions, perhaps billions. and the more"developed the country, the more it will make you sick and die.
