Re: Is this okay???
Hi ButtercupLuV, what you saw in the return from the enemas is fairly typical. While it's difficult to guess exactly what it might be, based on my own personal experience, and that of clients I have treated (I work in the office of a naturopathic doctor and administer
colonics and give enemas as prescribed), it doesn't sound like anything you should worry about.
Most people are surprised when they see how much gunk comes out during a
colonic or after an enema or series of enemas. During your fast I wouldn't recommend more than 2 cleansing enemas during any one day, and please don't even think about taking a Fleet enema! Yuk! I've had them twice, once as a teen and once again in my 20's, and both times they caused severe cramping and a burning sensation around my anus.
Stick with either plain warmed bottled or filtered tap water, or preferably a salt solution using 1 teaspoon of
Sea Salt or non-iodized
table salt for each pint of water, or 4 teaspoons for a full bag. That's the same as one tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon. The water should be at 103 degrees F at preparation time. Don't guess, use a baby bath thermometer in the pitcher or pot you use to prepare the solution.
If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to get back.
Hang in there with your fast! Best wishes, Valerie
