Re: Fasting

Hi~

Before you do yoga while fasting, consider that your practice should be very gentle, mostly seated and reclined poses. Some people can do a full practice while fasting, but its always best to start slowly and give your body what it asks for before.

Having said that, seated twists are particularly good for fasting because they deeply massage the internal organs, which in turn speeds up the detoxification and elimination process. Reclined twists are great too, especially on the days when you feel less energetic.

Reclined mountain pose is great for increasing circulation during fasting, as it is an active resting posture - moving the blood around is good for getting the toxins moving around and out. Try Wind Relieving Pose as well, to move around any gas and waste that may be trapped in your gut.

Fasting is an excellent time to work on your meditation practice as well....try this one

- its free :-).

Hope that helps and best of luck with your fasting!

Om Shanti
