I agree with you that the stuff from The Science Company is not high enough purity for internal use.

Also, that firm does use a Reagent Grade listing ... but this grade is not technically defined by anybody, neither usp.org nor acs.org.

ACS is a higher grade than USP though. For some reason, the standards from usp.org allow higher impurities than the research grade from ACS.
