Re: antibiotics and babies

My sister-in-law has a 9 month old son who has been on antibiotics off/on since birth and now they have to put tubes in his ears due to chronic ear infections. Poor baby has suffered for months with no relief. Antibiotics are useful in some situations. Long term use builds antibiotic resistance. I work for a dentist and we only prescribe PenVK500/Amoxicillin or Clindamycin (if penicillin allergy) only for people who have severe swelling and we need to bring it down just to get them numb and only give them at most a 3 day supply (short term). Otherwise, we let the body's immune system handle it because we are concerned about resistance.
O/T: vaccines and babies
My 4 month old came down with asthma 10 days after DPaT. Perfectly health before shot. I was pissed and told the pediatrician I know it was the vaccine and don't appreciate not being informed before hand. No more vaccinations! I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they blew it. Now my daughter is 7 months and doing fine. I give her VitC (sodium ascorbate), liquid multi-vit/min and probiotics. Asthma symptoms are gone.
