The truth about the disclaimer

Good try but no cigar.

Lest anyone misunderstand why the authors of that article put the disclaimer there: It is there to cover the author and website's asses because the monopoly of mainstream medicine, Big Pharma, the FDA and AMA have conspired to make it the law that only licensed medical professionals according to their definition and only FDA approved medications may be used to "diagnose, treat, cure or prevent" medical conditions.

Mainstream medicine, by law, owns a monopoly on the words themselves, as well as the medical terms for all diseases and illnesses when used to describe anything other than the treatments and drugs they control. That is why nutritional supplements are called nutritional supplements and why supplements, vitamins and mineral have labeling that contains terms like "supports liver function" or "may help liver function" and no mention of actual diseases and conditions like cancer, arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, hepatitis, etc. - no matter how well known and accepted it may be that a particular supplement, vitamin or mineral is effective.

The FDA is so protective of industry and suppressive of natural remedies that they are now in the process of coming after nutritional supplement companies who even list medical terms for illnesses and diseases on their websites or in their advertising, even if the listing is just a definition from a mainstream source or a testimonial.

Let me make this very clear: according to the FDA, a term like "cancer" cannot be listed as a title on a page that contains items that might be used to help fight it. A term like "cancer" may not be contained in any testimonial published on a website, no matter how factual, if the testimonial refers to a specific product they took in winning their battle.

And, a term like "cancer" cannot be used as a search term that leads to any product on a website. So, if the FDA has their way, if someone comes to a website looking for help in battling cancer they will find no testimonials about cancer and a search for the term "cancer" will come up empty. Unless the person happens to hit upon an alternative term used by the website, such as "immune support", they will find no help for their fight to save their life, despite the many, many well known products and supplements that have been used successfully by millions.

"The FDA 'protects' the big drug companies and are subsequently rewarded, and using the government's police powers they attack those who threaten the big drug companies. People think that the FDA is protecting them.

It isn't.

What the FDA is doing and what the public thinks it is doing are as different as night and day."

Dr. Herbert Ley
Former U.S. FDA Commissioner

That is what your FDA and mainstream medicine are doing and THAT is what the disclaimer is all about!

It is also what the mainstream apologists on this forum are all about too, evidently.
