as far as I know, stomach virus are spread via direct contact with the virus, not necessarily from food.

That is why I said "coincidentally" becasue it might just be possible.

Taking the Lugol's will not adversely affect you, but if it is viral - it will not have any effect. If it is bacterial you will see an immediate result. At least, that has been my experience.

It's a great thing to have on hand.
