B12 in Water Kefir?

Kefir is defined as containing vitamin B12 does this apply to water Kefir/Kefir Duva or does this only apply to milk Kefir? From my own experience Kefir grains used in milk and then transferred to fruit juice is best avoided, when water Kefir grains are supplied ask the supplier to confirm they are water grains and not milk processed...milk Kefir is better staying with milk....I am currently experimenting with the first 'Kefir' I bought (defined as Kefir duva,in fact milk kefir) in composting!
