Re: advice from older women

WONDERFUL that you're finishing your education! And, it may be that you will want to seek your own counseling. Forums are a very difficult place to post intimate details, but in a counseling session, you may air the laundry and get some practial tools to help you make positive choices for you and your child. It would be reasonable to step back, take a complete assessment of your relationship, determine why you choose to remain with this man, and start working from there.

Personally, I would write down everything positive thing that I could think of about my partner and define WHY they are positive attributes. Then, I would write down everything negative that I could think about and define why I felt those flaws were negative. Then, I would write down where I see myself in 5 years, and 10 years (got a degree, working full-time, whatever). Finally, I would write down where I could see us as a couple in 5 years, and 10 years.

Best wishes to you.
