There are just no good plant sources of vitamin b12 I mean nothing with a significant amount. There was some thought that some fermented products like miso, tempeh and others such as spirulina had b12 but these were found to be analogoues of b12 similar enough to create a false positive when testing. If one has a deficient diet (All vegans most vegetarians, and even omnivores) it will take a while quicker if vegan, to manifest as we will reabsorb b12 through bile excretion. I would reccomend a vegetarian to eat eggs and dairy, a vegan to supplement as by the time a deficiency is manifested in physical signs the bodies stores are long depleted and serious consequences may loom.
I do not take raw eggs on a regular basis. Every several months I will buy some organic eggs because I feel my body needs them, I do not enjoy them cooked very much and I want the best of the protein and other nutritive factors so I take them raw with olive oil and lemon or lime juice and swallow whole, I do not like oxidized eggs much once boiled or otherwise cooked they do not appeal to me any more. Currently I will do raw eggs maybe 5-6 times a year for maybe 2 weeks at a time.
