Re: Why Test For Parasites???
Quite often I have the exact thought; many professionals who are wise enough to recognize a parasitic infection will also agree.
If for no other reason than to determine more to do with the helminth source, vector, etc. - so to avoid re-infection and potentially eliminate the source (some sources/culprits for parasitic infection can be eliminated and/or dis-infected (is it your pet, is it the veggies you didn't wash, do you eat pork, was it a place you once worked or still attend on a regular basis - think contaminated, ultra biologically-polluted environment, the list is endless as we all know).
I agree on the whole notion which is the ubiquity of the Menace Kingdom - but if we can somehow overcome and discern more than or beyond what the blindness which preceded our current awareness led us to believe in ignorance - why not? Spend a bunch of money to do so - no, I wouldn't insist on it either. Unless it was determined (and this happens) that one might be hosting something enormously resistant to all measures commonly known and employed.
The reality is that more likely than not the results or conclusion from any testing will be a disappointment, even more - a potential deterrent to take care of business. More likely than not, parasite testing will produce false negatives and, in effect, a false lack of hope.
