Re: How much oil to take.
Hiya, Jimsgirl!
I've read at least one report much earlier in this forum about someone doing a successful
Liver Flush with 1/4 cup OO. Sorry, I can't be more specific than that, and although it might have worked for that individual there's no certainty that it would be enough for you.
If you'd like to try alternatives to 1/2 cup OO, here are 2 ideas:
1. Classic Coke flush - for the procedure, click on the cleansing tab above, and select this flush from the alternatives. For first-hand reports on it's effectiveness, do a search on Concerned Aunt's postings. She's done many flushes with this procedure.
2. Try substituting part of the
OO (Olive-Oil) with another oil. For example, Telman recommended 75%
OO (Olive-Oil) 25% flaxseed oil. I tried it and had a really good flush. You could mix 50% to 50% to change the taste. You could also try macademia oil. Take a look at Telman's oil chart, reported earlier on this page, for ideas.
As for eating eggs:
Moritz and Clark both recommend not eating animal fats earlier in the day. In fact, they recommend not eating fats in any form: nuts, seeds, dairy, as well as animal fats. The idea is that, with no fat to activate the gallbladder and liver, bile will accumulate in the bile ducts, so that there is more bile to be flushed out when you drink the OO. That way, more stones and metabolic garbage will come out with the bile. Some people have eaten fats earlier in the day and had successful flushes, while others have had poor flushes following fat consumption (this is reported earlier in CZ, sorry I don't have links for you to read for yourself).
However, some people (me included) have added free-range organic raw egg yolk to the OO/citrus drink, with good results. I experienced a typical flush - the same number of stones came out as the average of my flushes at that time - but it did make the OO/citrus drink taste a little more mellow, which might be a deciding factor for you.
Hope this helps.
