Re: Cleanse Report: 40 Day Master Cleanse.
There was a three day period, right in the middle of the cleanse, during which I gained 6 pounds. Prior to those three days, weight loss was steady and constant. After those three days, weight loss was steady and constant.
Of course, since it took a week to 're-lose' what had been so rapidly gained, the net effect was a ten day period right in the middle during which there was no weight change at all. That probably is fairly typically of others' experiences, as well.
Also during those three days was when I had the only significant "detox" event ( or healing event, or what ever it was) of this particular cleanse. I have done several MCs before and many, many liver flushes and colon cleanses. So, I think I was pretty "clean" coming into this cleanse and, hence, did not experience many detox events. (I had already experienced many, many detox events with those previous cleanses.) The body's wisdom will automatically prioritize what repair work/cleansing work needs doing most, and will clean/heal/repair in that order. Fat burning is just one of the options. Don't expect it to happen for you the first time, or even any time on the MC. What will happen is what needed to happen the most. It will be good. After that 3 day episode episode, and for the first time in decades, I am free of a minor, yet constantly nagging post-nasal drip. I happily give 6 pounds (and six weeks of drinking only lemonade) for that trade-off.
Every individual who starts an MC will present her/his own unique body, health state, emotional state, and psychology to the process. ALL those facets will be affected by the MC.
I am curious to see if the raw vegan approach will keep me permanently mucus-free. I hope so. No grains or dairy are included in it, so it might just do the trick. (Well, sprouts from grains are included, but I think that is different).
Thanks to everyone for your kind words of encouragement. Happy cleansing to all!
