periodless

HI I'm just wondering if anyone knows why I can't get a period? I'm 25 started when I was 16, very heavy went on bcp for 3 months and since then I can't get a period on my own unless I take bcp and I don't want to take those awful pills anyomre! I'm concerned bc we want to start trying to have a baby but that will be impossible unless I have a menstrual cycle. Could it be candida? Toxic liver? I"m so frustrated any advice please?
