Though, not all positive thoughts are done with a pure heart. What I mean by this is without thought of "self". Hence, why it was suggested to pray for the innocent.

Who can say that they themselves are innocent? I believe in life that continues, and if that life is again as a human, I believe that we shall reap what we have sown.

If I am personally responsible for having poisoned someone, some where at some point in time, then it is fair and just that I receive this same treatment to learn that there is no "profit" in it.

I believe, though I could be wrong, that you do what you do to benefit others. That you spend time doing it because you wish to protect. What I suggested was for the same reason.
