Is it true?

I was recently told that you can contract Chlamydia from going from anal sex to vaginal sex right away. Is this true?

Here's some history..

My partner and I just found out that we are positive for C. he went to a clinic and they had asked if we were trying anal sex. We had attempted once but didn’t follow through, he stopped went to the bathroom washed his penis with soap and water and returned back to continue with vaginal intercourse. The Doc at the clinic said washing wasn’t good enough, he needed to urinate too. She advised that the bacteria from one cause the C., does this even make sense? I doubt my partner when he says that he has been faithful, he is in the military and the temptation is there. Hard for me to believe that I would have givin it to myself.
