how to teach yr child to stay away from junk foods?
hello, I have a daughter who is almost 3. I have started to research nutrition after giving birth, and in the last 3 years my diet has changed a lot. I am now about 80% raw although not strictly vegan, but my family is still on the way.
Unfortunately when baby started weaning I was still doing the cooked grains and pasteurized dairy along with some commercial foods, so she got used to them . I slowly learned more and more and always tried to feed her the best according to my knowledge.
At the moment she is still doing the cooked grains ( although correctly prepared following Nourishing Traditions recipes) , and we have been able to find raw dairy , so she has her daily kefir. She eats some raw fruits and veggies although not as much as I would like her to.
Unfortunately in the past 6 months she is starting to show a lot of interest in junk foods , especially when seeing other children eating them. When we are in a store she goes straight tio look at chocolate bars M&M's and such, and says "look mommy, it's junk!"...but it is obvious that she is a lot attracted and she would love to have some.
I am worried since she is about to go to kindergarten and it will be very difficult to teach her to avoid these foods, I am also afraid to cause the opposite reaction by repeating her that these foods are junk and they do no good...
please help!
