Does your balls have to swell up for you to become sterile?

Many years ago I had a mucous discharge that had just a little white in it and after the last seconds of urinating I would have a stinging pain and I took a sample of the discharge to the doctor a couple days later that I save in the refrigerater and she said it was normal and was just regular bacteria not an STD. (she took it and looked under a microscope) I hope she knew what she was talking about because tomorrow I am going to get tested for every STD.
