I don't know if you are still checking this forum, but I thought I'd give you my honest input here. I really don't think it's likely at all that she picked it up during her exams. I've had many, many exams over the years and they tend to be very careful about using sterile instruments. They are especially careful if they have been working with a patient who has an STD. You mentioned that it was a harried environment when the baby was delivered, but that was so long ago that it's just not possible that she got it then, had a negative test at six months and now she's positive a year later. Of course, the only way to know for sure is if your wife tells you. Sorry you are going through so much worry. Tweet
