What motivated me; the rest of the story... closure (EDIT)
EDIT:
As you read this...
A. I have been detoxing and cleansing for over two years
B. I have been heavily eating foods known to move and chelate heavy metals during that time, including cilantro, chlorella, spirulina and Brazil nuts among other things.
C. I have known about
Iodine and have been getting between 5 and 15mg of
Iodine a day through my foods for over 2 years.
End of EDIT.
Seeing that some have not found what I have tried to state in these posts, this was/is the motivation. I hope you will see my intention...
This post of mine...

The rest of the story...
I got as wrapped up in the studies, data, and excitement, along with the halide imbalances as many on here have. Please read the whole post.
I may have over did it a little, too long, too much, or both, who knows. I started feeling a little weaker, a little less endurance, a very slight brain fog seemed to be creeping in, and I had slight to moderate kidney pressure and ache in spite of lots of water, and an occasional
Watermelon seed tea. This, after having felt real good, probably the best EVER, for well over a month prior... In retrospect I probably should have listened to my body and tapered the
Iodine off to maintenance dosing when I was into the plateau a week or so and feeling that good, but I forged ahead, albeit with a lower dose, after all I was urinating dark, strong smelling urine most every afternoon... but was it excess bromine or my body trying to metabolize and excrete the excess iodine? Why was I slowly getting symptoms that I had left behind over a year and a half ago?
I feel great now that I have backed off the Lugol's, even better still having absolutely none in the last 36 hours (had 12.5mg Thursday morning). I still have a little kidney pressure/ache that is non-existent if I get plenty of water, my alkalizing drinks (which are a soothing wonder), and/or
Watermelon seed tea. I suspect the kidneys really get a HUGE and grueling workout with this
Lugol's therapy based on the data and past posts of various colored urine AND my own experience. No colored urine today... a kidney vacation :-)
Take care of them throughout the iodine supplementation. I sure am glad I did. I can only imagine what it would have been like if I did not drink the quantities of water I do.
I am giving it a rest for a while. Once I feel I have everything back and running as it should be I will slip into a maintenance dosing.
Be careful is all I am saying...
Having symptoms that were resolved and begin to reappear again got me to thinking...
//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=873908#i
Specifically this:
"If you look at each halogen's toxicity symptoms, including fluoride, and chloride along with iodine and bromine, you will find many identical and similar symptoms across all four of them."
and this
"At what point does one who is taking iodine to defeat bromine and/or fluoride toxicity come to the conclusion that the bromine and/or fluoride is flushed out IF they are still having what they believe is "bromide" related symptoms when in reality and unbeknown to them, it is an iodine toxicity?"
Did I have iodine toxicity? Or, had the flood gates opened and was it bromine(ide) and/or fluorine(ide) pouring out of my body? The only reason I doubt the fluoride and the bromine, or any other toxin, is that I have absolutely no BO, not even when I am wringing wet (and I mean wringing) with sweat. I feel good enough to still be doing my grueling work outs, so obviously it is not debilitating, but very, very concerning to this healthy dude.
I suspect my kidneys are/were working extremely hard to rid me of something but what? Past pharmaceuticals? Heavy metals? Other chemical toxins? If so, why no BO? That is why I suspect iodine. I could be wrong... anyone else have a better answer?
Who knows the answer? Anyone?
Either way, it is definitely time for a break.
Being pioneers, I suspect we should share all success and failure, victory and defeat. If we do not, we do not have the whole picture.
Please see all these posts of mine as a "gift". My experience to guide or direct you. At the very least, put it in the back of your mind and stay alert and aware. Do not look at the posts as being anti-iodine. They were not written nor intended that way AT ALL and I said as much in them.
Just be careful is all that I am saying.
The last thing I want is for anyone to run full speed to the edge of the cliff with a blindfold on. Be aware.
You are ALL my friends...
Take my experience and remember it, I will... it just may be a guiding light.
Much love and blessings,
