Re: The danger of extremes
“With all do respect to the authoritative and scientific data posted earlier, I still believe one hundred million people could be wrong. The use of
Iodine goes back many years.
Lugol himself would wince after reading some of this outlandishness. Again with all due respect to the neccessity to reach for an extreme to resolve a problem, but really, are we that ill and if we think we are, it may be more a mental disturbance…”
While waiting for Jcrow to find reference material for a rebuttal…and I suspect he will have trouble making his argument…
“The use of
Iodine goes back many years.”… but the mental conditioning of the masses goes back even further. It’s the same old tactic of saying something over and over and over enough times that the masses come to ‘believe’ that it is fundamentally true.
Some say 'conscience' is the right and wrong that is imposed on the individual from the outside, from the society in which one lives. Consider the probability that Jcrow has also been fed much erroneous information by the same society. Unlike many of us who are just beginning to come out of the brain-washing done by the government agencies, politicians, educational institutions, radio & television news media, parents and so-called friends, Jcrow is still clinging to alot of that propaganda that has been swirling around within the mind since childhood. Letting his 'conscience' be his guide… then, feeling righteous enough to let his 'conscience' be the guide for others on this forum! (Don’t mean to single him out, for there are very many who are doing the same.)
For this is all of what ‘conscience’ is: that which has been imposed from the outside on the mind by others, enough times that you ‘believe’ it to be your very own. This is different than from having consciousness, awareness. And Jcrow should know this difference as much as he has plugged his Tibetan Buddhist Medicine teachings webpage on this forum. For ‘consciousness’ (awareness of who you are) grows from the inside out with meditation and ‘conscience’ (the false) fades away like as the shadow that it is.
And so, the basic fact of the matter is that the individual has the freedom to do his own research and to choose for himself. It is greatly appreciated that such reasearch information is made available here on this forum.
“…are we that ill and if we think we are, it may be more a mental disturbance…”
One thing, though, there is no such thing as ‘normal’. We are all mentally disturbed to a certain degree… unless one goes beyond this chitter-chattering mind.
