Re: The Male Walnut Buds, MH

Today I had a moment to check the old beat up walnut tree in the back yard. The buds have definitely blossomed just in the past day or two. What I want to know is - what is it that only lasts for 2 or 3 days? Does the bud itself shrivel up after 2 to 3 days, or is there a pollen that it loses after this period? When I checked late this morning, there was a pretty good amount of buds on this beat up tree, but even the low ones were up beyond arms reach. The buds looked almost looked like packed in teeny tiny bunches of grapes..... may not be a good description, but my eyes don't work as well as they once did and from the distance, this is what I saw.
