Re: Antibiotics for ear infection--my decision
Hey Nicole,
I thought I had posted a reply -- sorry! I do think you are doing the right thing, which is to use a tool that we do have available when others aren't working. I have a lot of respect for the mothers who come to this forum and seek alternative options and I am of the opinion that an
Antibiotic or two in childhood is not going to be the end of the "Curezone kids" whose moms are likely to feed their kids really well and do things like probiotics treatment following
Antibiotics use.
It is the other kids I am worried about -- the ones who get infection after infection and who take
Antibiotic after antibiotic. I know a lot of them who are seemingly just sick kids with occasional well days. It's awful for those little guys.
I would recommend you try some coconut oil, too. A doctor I read about recently says that not only can flora be wiped out (requiring probiotics) by
Antibiotic use, but also that in their absence the yeasts can take over, so an antifungal can be helpful in keeping balance too.
Hope this is all over soon for you all and that your little one is feeling A-OK again!
Laura
